gkkworks Names New Director of Sustainable Design

IRVINE, California, February 14 - gkkworks, committed to providing clients with high performance design and construction for a sustainable built environment, recently named Jason Bone, LEED AP its new Director of Sustainable Design.

gkkworks recognizes the significance of tracking the performance of its design and construction portfolio. The firm regularly evaluates progress toward reducing the consumption of energy and water within its active portfolio. From conceptual design to construction, gkkworks ensures the proposed design strategies and selection of materiality improve each client's portfolio and community. With their holistic-solution approach, the firm inspires every team member to recognize the environmental and social impacts of the profession.

Jason joined gkkworks in 2002, and in recent years he has evolved our sustainable design practices. He has been a key team member of several award-winning projects including the Kohinoor Square Tower, the Advanced Technology & Education Park, Central Region Elementary School #21, and the VA Spinal Cord Injury Center. Jason is a strong believer that design matters in every aspect of our industry, stating that "opportunities within our industry will continue to arise as we demonstrate our collective abilities to design and construct meaningful, high performance, and sustainable projects. Demanding innovation on each project now, will elevate individual awareness and foster overall growth."

Jason has been instrumental in the evolution of gkkworks' sustainable design practice initiating the use of conceptual energy analysis tools such as Ecotect, Green Building Studio, and Project Vasari. He also works with the firm's construction personnel to influence performance design and life-cycle assessments of materials and building systems. Today, Jason continues to develop and implement an integrated design and production workflow using innovative analysis tools and engaging gkkworks' engineering consultants to inform the firm's passive design strategies.
