1. What's your role in the gkkworks family?
My official title is Proposal Manager although I wear many different hats here at gkkworks which include that of copy writer, fire drill sergeant, brand developer, graphic interpreter, software consultant and happy hour organizer, among others. My main goal is to work collaboratively with Business Development, Operational and Marketing Department staff to continually improve marketing material quality in order to help ensure sales goals are met and exceeded. I am also devoted to creating effective schedules and strategies for providing firm-wide marketing support in a timely and resource-efficient manner.

Alan (Al) Colussy, AIA, LEED AP, was honored by the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP), Colorado Chapter as the 2102 Member of the Year. The award was announced at NAIOP Colorado's 2012 Awards of Achievement luncheon held Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Ritz Carlton in Denver.

I am a Planning Manager specializing in higher education consulting services and planning. I primarily provide educational and facilities planning services for California Community Colleges. The services I provide help fulfill our integrated services philosophy by being able to bring up-front planning capabilities along with architectural design and construction services.

My title is Senior Construction Manager. I am working on the Indio Educational Center for the College of the Desert. My team members are Al McQuilkin, Brian Merrick, Jeff Fuller, and Jose Guajardo. We also get support from our IT group, Scott Fitzsimmons, and Edd Olha.

On 12/12/12, in the showroom kitchens of Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau in Irvine, California, seven teams from the A/E/C industry took part in the annual Cook, Create, Donate event. The event was created to raise awareness for Laura's House, a valuable resource for women who are victims of domestic violence.

Keat Tan, Principal and Director of Design at klipp (a division of gkkworks), has received the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) Denver chapter 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes an architect who has made significant contributions to the AIA, the profession, and the citizens of Denver.

I started with LHA in 2000 in their Fallbrook office, and transferred to gkkworks' San Diego office in 2007.

I recently passed all my registration exams in California and became a Licensed Architect so I was promoted from Job Captain to Architect. I work in the Pasadena office and the majority of my time has been focused in the K-12 Education market, but I am hoping to gain more experience in Higher Education and Healthcare in the future.

After receiving numerous nominations of highly talented individuals, all of whom make significant contributions to the profession, the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Awards Committee announced the recipients of its first Annual Award of Excellence. Each of the award recipients have significantly affected the safety, health, and environmental profession, and continue their commitment through everyday life. Out of 20,000 Certified Safety Professionals, gkkworks' Manager of Safety and Health, Bruce Brown, was chosen as one of five winners.

My role would depend on who you ask. I have been told I am the traveling architect, grill master (Pasadena bbq), sangria guy, morale booster and of course buttercup. I cannot be counted as part of the family without an endearing nickname(s).
