The scope of work for the three-story, Saddleback College/James B. Utt Library, Learning Resource Center building remodel includes an interior area of approximately 101,000 GSF within the library. The first floor included the repair and re-design of the west half. The existing slab-on-grade was completely replaced, due to heaving. The new layout includes several new classrooms, the Lariat newspaper offices and a photography lab. The existing third floor was redesigned on the south one-third of the building by backfilling existing office areas with several new classrooms relocating the Learning Assistance Program from the first floor into the northern portion of the third floor.
