This urban mixed-use development succeeds in recycling a key real estate parcel, the former Elitch Gardens Amusement Park site, into a mixed-use community for the neighborhood located in Denver's historic West Highland neighborhood. By providing a mixture of activities—office, shopping, entertainment, and housing—this site truly becomes a strong example of mixed-use urban design. An underlying goal of this plan is to provide the area with a major destination center. The plan offers a high profile image to individual retailers while providing a strong link to other uses within the commercial center and surrounding neighborhood. The architecture within the site is varied and distinct, drawing cues from the site's historical context. klipp, a division of gkkworks, provided architectural services for this project.
