Van is a licensed architect and holds a Masters of Architecture Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has more than three decades of experience in project and construction management of complex institutional and government projects and programs. From inception through design, construction, closeout, and warranty phases, Van has managed the design and construction of fast-track, design-build, guaranteed maximum price, negotiated, and traditional design-bid-build projects for public clients including courthouses, probation and detention facilities, student housing, research laboratories, corporate and healthcare facilities. A key area of Van's expertise is developing design-build procedures and helping public clients to implement the design-build delivery process on their projects. Van has an impressive record of success in managing large capital improvement programs requiring extensive resources to complete. As a principal for gkkworks, she oversees the development and implementation of the firm's work in the state and local government arena.
